Aeronautics and Astronautics School
The School of Aeronautics and Astronautics is one of the major departments supported by the university with distinctive industrial features. It provides two undergraduate programs-- aircraft manufacturing engineering & unmanned aerial vehicle system engineering; and two programs of higher vocational education level-- unmanned aircraft application technology & aircrew service. The school has 23 experimental training sites with teaching and practice functions integrated; it is also equipped with more than 360 sets of various teaching and research equipment, each exceeding ¥10,000. The school is named as the first national teaching innovation team training base for vocational education teachers, as well as “the aircraft manufacturing technology personnel training base” of national level & “aviation and electromechanical personnel training base” of Tianjin Municipal level. Drawing on the dual teaching mode from German, the college deepens comprehensive cooperation with leading enterprises in the industry such as Xi’An Aircraft International Corporation and Dornier Seaplane Company, and constantly explores new modes of talents cultivation through integration of industry and university. We insists on a teaching mode of "small-sized class, project-based and module-orientated " and implements professional practice with striking applied-university features throughout the four years. In 2018, the school was awarded the first prize of Tianjin municipal teaching achievement, and the employment rate of graduates has reached over 95% for several consecutive years.
