Mechanical Engineering School
The School of Mechanical Engineering was first established in 1988 as one of the first departments of the school. There are 69 faculty members, including 5 professors and 23 associate professors. Among the faculty members, 8 have doctoral degree, 12 are studying for a doctoral degree, and 46 have master's degree.
In May 2013, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of The People's Republic of China and Chairman of the CPC Central Military Commission, visited Tianjin Vocational Skills Public Training Center in Haihe Education Park and communicated with teachers and students of numerical control specialty of our school. In October 2014, During Premier Li Keqiang's visit to Germany to attend the 7th Chinese-German Forum for Economic and Technological Cooperation, he presented the "Luban Lock" made by students of our school as a national gift to German Chancellor Angela Merkel, which greatly enhanced the influence of our school.
Faculty members have presided over or participated in 59 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) , Tianjin key R & D projects, Tianjin Intelligent Manufacturing special project and 61 horizontal projects of enterprises. In the past three years, the school has received 9.12 million yuan for scientific research.
At present, the school has 3 undergraduate programs, and 3 Sino-Spanish international cooperative programs. In 2018, The Sino-Foreign cooperative school of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering was established upon the deliberation and approval of the Tianjin Municipal Government. It has won 6 national teaching achievement awards and 5 provincial teaching achievement awards, and the numerical control technology teaching team has been rated as the municipal excellent teaching team.
The school now has 47 experimental training rooms, covering an area of more than 5,000 square meters, and the total value of equipment is more than 65 million yuan.
