Tianjin Sino-German University of Applied Sciences, the predecessor of Tianjin Sino-German Training Center, was founded in 1985. The German government invested 65 million West German marks to introduce the German "dual system" training model for skilled workers, technicians and corporate trainers. In the 36 years since the university was founded, a total of more than 70 long-term and short-term German experts have come to support the construction of our university, and four of them have won the Chinese Government Friendship Award. In 2013, our university was approved as a Sino-German (Tianjin) Vocational Education Cooperation Demonstration Base by the Ministry of Education of China.

1. Cooperation with German institutions
Relying on the cooperation platform between the governments of China and Germany, the university cooperates with the German GTZ, the German Rhineland-Palatinate Teacher Training Institute (Landesakademie Rheinland-Pfalz) and other institutions to carry out vocational and technical personnel training, teacher training, and quality system construction. The German GTZ cooperated to establish the GTZ project information service center in China in Tianjin and Germany. In 2007, it cooperated with the German GIZ to launch the wind power trainer project. The development of our university has received high attention from the German government. Seven German ambassadors in China have visited us.

2. Cooperation with German universities
Up to now, the university has signed strategic cooperation agreements with 7 universities of applied sciences in Germany to carry out student exchanges, teacher training, cooperative education, joint construction of experimental training rooms and multinational scientific research projects in logistics, automation, automotive, mechanical engineering, intelligent manufacturing and other majors. We have cooperated with two German vocational schools to establish overseas exchange and training bases for German school students. So far, more than 100 German students have come to our university for exchanges. Our university also sent more than 200 teachers and students to Germany for training, exchange and exchange.
In 2016, the vice president of Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences visited us.
Our university signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Saarland University of Applied Sciences and students from Saarland University of Applied Sciences participate in international skills competition.
In 2019, our university signed a cooperation agreement with the Munich University of Applied Linguistics in Germany.
In October 2018, our university negotiated with Deggendorf University of Applied Sciences in Germany.
In 2019, our students carried out overseas semester projects at Schmakarden University of Applied Sciences.
Since 2014, German vocational school students have come to our university for short-term exchanges and internships.
In 2021, our university signed a cooperation agreement with the Jena University of Applied Sciences in Germany.
In 2022, our university signed a cooperation agreement with the Berlin University of Applied Sciences in Germany.
3. Cooperation with German companies
The university cooperates with nearly 20 German-funded enterprises in China to carry out order-based talent training and cultivate customized talents for enterprises. Since 2011, the university has established order classes for Bosch Rexroth (Beijing), Volkswagen (Tianjin) automatic transmission, NZWL, Schlot, Magna, Airbus and other companies, introduced international standards for enterprises, and jointly Development courses; university and enterprises jointly build "Tianjin Sino-German-DMG (DMG) CNC Technology Center", "Siemens Experience Center", "Sino-German-Bosch Automotive Training Center", "Flanders Training Center" and "Phoenix Intelligent Production Line Demonstration and Innovation Center" and other teaching and scientific research platforms promote the cultivation of applied technical talents.
12 students from the order class went to Germany for a 6-month training, which attracted the attention of the local German media.
The students of our university's order class won the title of "Best Apprentice" in the world of Volkswagen Group.
